Why are the breathing exercises you have chosen important for vocal development or particularly for you?
The two breathing exercises I chose were the in-breath and the diamond point bounce. On the in-breath you practice to breathe properly, so that you will be able to use your voice to its full advantage. In the most efficient way of breathing, the lower ribbs move outward and upward, to help you take as much air in as possible. This exercise is important to understanding how body works as well
In diamond point bounce you practice to know where and how you breathe and to be more aware of the different parts of your body. These are very important for projection and breathe control
2. How can you use pitch, pause, pace and/or inflection to convey a particular emotion?
The poem I chose was the Twelve songs by W.H Auden. I tried to use pauses to create a calm but some what sad mood for the poem, using lower pitch and slower pace to help with that.
